Goodbye Rose

We found this little lady wandering around our house...WTH? We called the wildlife people and they told us that duck gorge themselves this time of year in preparation for their big flight to Mexico for the winter. Sometimes they eat way too much and cannot take off until they convert the food into fat which is much lighter and allows them to fly again.

So we filled up our sledding saucer with water

and held and loved her for about a day or so then...

we put her in Ace's dog kennel and drove her to a nearby body of water...to be with her own kind

We wished here a good trip and watched her find her place with her new friends.

I wish I could go with her to Mexico for the winter!!!!
